November Sunday Workshops: Felted Duffers

As the weather gets cooler, its time to think about duffers. If you are not familiar with these amazing felted slippers you don't know what you are missing. These super quick slippers are only 23 rows and knit up in an evening. This workshop will give you all the tips and tricks you need to sucessfully make many pairs of these slippers. The pattern has many sizes available so you can make them for you entire family. The duffers made in class can be brought back for us to felt. Any Sunday in NOVEMBER

Malabrigo Holiday KAL

For our next KAL we have decided to shake things up a bit. Knitters who would like to continue to work on their KAL sweaters are welcome to continue. For those knitters who switch to gift knitting (or just accessory knitting) can participate in our Malabrigo Holiday KAL. Knitters can join us during November & December on Sunday afternoons from 1:30-4. HOW DOES IT WORK?
You can choose from any of the Malabrigo yarns in the shop. A ticket will be issued for each skein purchased. When the project is completed, bring the ticket in and you will recieve 10% off on your next skein of Malabrigo yarn and the tickets will be entered into a drawing that we will have during our post-holiday party.

The Soldotna Crop is a top-down circular yoke sweater that features stranded colorwork. The design can easily be lengthened if crops aren’t your style. This class is for you as long as you have some previous experience with colorwork. We will learn about gauge in stranded knitting and how to tweak a top-down sweater to fit. The class is scheduled with two weeks between each class in order to allow for homework.

Class is 3 Sessions -- Fridays: January 12, 19, & 26 at 1:30-3:30 OR Saturdays: January 13, 20, & 27 at 1:30-3:30. Worlds Simplest Mittens! These great mittens will soon become a knitting staple. Learn to knit them on two circular needles. Once you have completed the thumb you can even make them two at a time. Add a bit of mohair for warmth and softness. $55 (Materials additional)

January Sunday Workshop: Betangled Cowl

The Betangled Cowl is a warm, luxurious cowl for those coldest of days in deep winter. The fabric is completely reversible, with dramatic ribbed cables on a garter-stitch field. This cowl is knitted from one short end to the other, and then the ends are connected with a button closure.

The pattern includes three sizes: a single loop, a longer single loop that can be worn around the shoulders, and a double loop. The circumference of the loop can easily be adjusted as you go. Although the pattern calls for worsted-weight yarn, dk, and aran-weight yarns will be equally beautiful.

Fully written instructions are provided, along with an optional chart.

Intro to Lace: Saroyan

Class is 1 Session -- Thursday, January 18 at 10:30 to 12:30 OR Saturday, January 20 at 10:30 to 12:30. Knit in one piece from start to finish, Saroyan is a perfect project for beginning lace knitters. This tapered scarf can be worn in various ways, and the construction helps keep your neck nice and cozy. A garter stitch border rolls over nicely, so you only see the stocking stitch body and lovely lace edging. Learn all the tips and tricks to master shaped stitches. $35 (Materials additional)

Winter Knit-A-Long

It is time to announce the winter K-A-L! This time you will have a choice of Cardigan or Pullover (or maybe both!) Here is how it works: We choose the pattern and the yarn and provide all the help you need to complete the project. Join us on Fridays and/or Sundays from 10:00 - 1:00 starting on January 19th. No need to sign up, just stop in and select your yarn and we will help get you started.

Sockmatician Toe-up Formula: If you are ready to take your sock knitting to the next level, this is the class for you. This amazing toe-up formula brings all the benefits of a top-down sock... gusset, heel flap, and proper heel turn to the toe-up pattern. The pattern we use is a formula that can transform any sock pattern into a toe-up sock. **Knitters must have previously completed at least one pair of socks. Knitters will be using the two-circular method (instead of DPN) and DK weight yarn. ***We will also learn to translate your favorite top-down sock to toe-up. These sport-weight gloves are made on a size 5 needle. The gloves can be made long or short, finger or fingerless, and finally with beads or without. The pattern fits a wide range of hand sizes.
